Viacom Africa's MTV Shuga sex edutainment drama series that continues with further seasons filmed in sub-Saharan Africa, and getting two spinoffs filmed in Egypt and India, are once again doing a casting call for a "Down South" season that will be filmed in South Africa.

Previous seasons of Viacom International Media Networks Africa's (VIMN Africa) MTV Shuga have been filmed in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria and have been broadcast on MTV Base (DStv 322), e.tv and SABC1.

The 6th season of MTV Shuga, entitled MTV Shuga Naija and set in Lagos, Nigeria, made its debut on MTV Base earlier this year, and started in July on SABC1.

Besides two new seasons that will be filmed in Cote d'Ivoire for the first time, a new season of MTV Shuga, again entitled MTV Shuga Down South will be filmed in South Africa between September and November for broadcast on MTV Base and BET (DStv 129) in 2019.

The production company is now looking for young adult actors and doing open auditions in Johannesburg and Durban.
