e.tv adds new local drama from Quizzical Pictures, Easy Money, in which autistic son Moagi narrates his mother's capture by a dangerous pyramid scheme.


e.tv is adding another new local drama series, Easy Money, starting on the red letter channel on Tuesday 12 September at 21:30 and revolving around a pyramid scheme and the lives of the people being impacted by this fraudulent money-making operation.

Easy Money, produced by Quizzical Pictures that is also responsible for e.tv's soap Rhythm City, is framed by the narration of the autistic Moagi (Pabello Khoza), the only son of a young teacher Khosi (Xoli Zondi).

The drama series looks at how and why South Africans fall for pyramid schemes as his mother is lured into an unscrupulous pyramid scheme.

The Easy Money cast is rounded out by Tumelo Don Mosenye as Justice (Khosi’s husband and father to Moagi), Noxee Maqashalala as Zee (Khosi’s older sister), Tinah Mnumzana as Moagi’s nanny Naledi and Andrea Dondolo as a helper who is currently the treasurer in the community stokvel.

e.tv soap Rhythm City’s Connie Chiume returns to the e.tv as Gloria, a teacher and colleague to Khosi who also invests in the pyramid scheme.

e.tv soap Scandal! actress Sive Mabuya will take on the lead role of Dipuo, recruiter at Pharaoh Investments.

Mr Eddy, CEO of Pharaoh Investments is played by David Dennis while Austin Shandu plays Mr. Eddy’s right hand man and professional scammer, Leano.

Viewers will also see Jerry Phele as Amos, the community construction worker. Gold Diggers actor Thabo Malema joins the ensemble cast as Collins who is best friends with Zee. Actors Sibongile Nojila and Jose Domingos also have roles.
