SABC's human resources boss Mohlolo Lephaka dead after short illness; called parliament 'a kangaroo court' and had to apologise publicly.

The SABC's human resources boss Mohlolo Lephaka is dead following a short illness; he died on Saturday morning.

Mohlolo Lephaka called South Africa's parliament "a kangaroo court" in December 2016 during the special ad hoc committee investigating corruption, maladministration and mismanagement at the SABC and the former SABC board, and was forced to publicly apologise weeks later.

Mohlolo Lephaka called parliament "a kangaroo court" at a controversial press briefing of the SABC's former chief operating officer (COO) Hlaudi Motsoeneng in Cape Town, where he also decided to talk.

Mohlolo Lephaka died Saturday morning after a short, unspecified illness.

The SABC in a statement noted Mohlolo Lephaka's passing and said it extended condolences to his family and friends.
