■ A big thank you goes to the Southern Sun Hyde Park hotel in Johannesburg where I stayed to attend this specific media launch - this Sandton hotel is literally adjacent and connected to the Hyde Park Corner, so I literally walked from the hotel's parkade connect to the event.
With all my constant travelling to cover all things television, the Southern Sun Hyde Park where I often stay - although I hardly ever actually use a room - instantly recognised me as a Tsogo Sun frequent guest.
When I got back to my Southern Sun Hyde Park hotel room after the event, there was a bottle of white wine on ice waiting for me, as well as a letter from the hotel manager, that was a very nice and personalised touch.
