Matthew Westrup the new vice president of operations at A+E Networks UK,will oversee broadcast operations for its channels across Africa.

Matthew Westrup has been appointed in the new position of vice president of operations at A+E Networks UK from March that runs channels like History, Lifetime and Crime+Investigation on MultiChoice's DStv across Africa.

Matthew Westrup was at Scripps Networks International.

As vice president of operations at A+E Networks UK he will now oversee all broadcast operations, media management, facilities and IT infrastructure for all of A+E Networks' channels across Sub-Saharan Africa, the United Kingdom and Ireland as well as Central and Eastern Europe.

Matthew Westrup now reports to Nicolas Eglau, A+E Networks UK's chief operating officer (COO) and general manager for the Central and Eastern Europe and Africa region.

"I am delighted that Matthew Westrup is joining us at A+E Networks to spearhead our operations division. He has a proven track record of managing high profile channel portfolios and leading on innovation as well as overseeing third parties activity and launching new channels," says Nicolas Eglau.
