M-Net Edge shows full frontal male nudity as start of second season of The Affair again brings a penis to M-Net viewers across Africa.

M-Net Edge (DStv 102) is again bringing full frontal male nudity to viewers across Africa, flashing penis to viewers across Africa with the start of the second season of The Affair which also has its debut episode available on DStv Catch Up.

While breasts abound on racy television with a lot of female nudity on display in shows from HBO, Showtime and Starz productions shown across various TV channels in South Africa and Africa like M-Net, History (DStv 186) and FOX (DStv 125 / StarSat 131) with shows like Game of ThronesBlack Sails, Da Vinci's Demons and others, the male penis prominently displayed in television drama has remained the more elusive creature.

Now African viewers are getting a poke in the eye as penises are unexpectedly starting to pop up in more and more shows.

After M-Net (DStv 101) and M-Net Edge showed African viewers penises in ShamelessOutlander and in Looking the South African pay-TV broadcaster did it again this morning at 01:00 for the second season premiere of The Affair in which Helen (Maura Tierney) stares at the new penis in her bed.

The Affair episode is now available on DStv Catch Up (with no parental guide or age restriction warning for DStv subscribers about what they might see).

The Affair is an "Express from the US" M-Net title where the second season's penis depiction instantly led to a flurry of reports in American media on Monday for the episode in which a penis body double was used as a stand-in for actor Josh Stamberg as his character Max stands naked in front of Helen and shows his goods.

Maura Tierney told E! the scene made her cringe, but she liked that it provided "a big jump ahead for the character".

Josh Stamberg told Entertainment Weekly that it was really awkward immediately after filming the scene.

"Not with the other actor but with everyone else in the room who has been watching you do this. Suddenly the dude behind the monitor can't look at you."

UPDATE 16:30 - M-Net just announced a late schedule change after discovering the penis.

After broadcasting the first episode at 01:00 this morning and placing the show on DStv Catch Up, the primetime broadcast by M-Net of the episode in Africa that was set for 20:00 on Wednesday is now moving later.

M-Net is moving the second season premiere episode of The Affair from 20:00 to 20:30 on Wednesday on M-Net Edge (DStv 102) due to the full frontal male anatomy being displayed.

"The first episode of The Affair season 2 on M-Net Edge contains a very intense erotic scene (18SNL) and will now be screened at 20:30 not at 20:00 on Wednesday, 7 October 2015," M-Net is advising in a programming note.

"The channel has scheduled Vice season 3 as a once-off filler at 20:00. This will consequently move the season finale of Orange is the New Black season 3 to 21:30 instead of 21:00."
