Catering company fired after cast and crew of SABC's Venda soap Muvhango on SABC2 fell victim to food poisoning, kitchen 'sterilised'.

The catering company has been fired and the kitchen "sterilised" after the cast and crew of the SABC's Venda soap Muvhango on SABC2 fell victim to serious food poisoning in the middle of last week.

Cast members like Innocentia Makapila (Rendani), David Sebe (Gizara) and Constance Sibiya (Hangwani) and crew were treated at various hospitals following lunch on Wednesday 9 June, which saw the Muvhango production fall victim of food poisoning which the soap production "views in a very serious light".

"The Muvhango production team regrettably confirms that a few of our cast and crew members fell victim to food poisoning after they consumed lunch on Wednesday 9 June," says the soap in a statement.

"This is a matter that management views in a very serious light. Muvhango productions would also like to confirm that we value the health of our cast and crew members, so much that a new catering company was hired immediately."

"They started working Friday, after much sterilisation was administered to our kitchen and coffee stations."
