M-Net this morning quickly jumped to respond to the untimely and sad death of Hollywood film and TV actor Robin Williams, with M-Net's programming and scheduling division quickly pulling together a loving Robin Williams film tribute in remembrance of the actor.
The Robin Williams film tribute will run on M-Net Movies Showcase (DStv 108) on Saturday 16 August and Sunday 17 August on DStv.
The special M-Net Movies Showcase Robin Williams tribute will include iconic films he appeared in, ranging from Good Will Hunting for which he won an Oscar; to Good Morning Vietnam and The Fisher King for which he received Oscar nominations; and even Hook and Awakenings.
"M-Net is saddened by the death of legendary actor Robin Williams," says M-Net in a statement to TV with Thinus. "Over the years Robin Williams brought laughter, joy and magic to the millions of viewers who enjoyed his stellar performances on the M-Net family of channels".
"Viewers simply knew that the appearance of his name in a cast list signalled an unforgettable viewing experience. To celebrate the immense contribution of this exceptionally talented star, M-Net Movies has decided to put together a special movie festival in his memory".
The line-up of beautiful Robin Williams movies on M-Net Movies Showcase on Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 August will now be:
