Karen Zoid gets kykNET talker, Republiek van Zoid Afrika, starting on kykNET on Thursday 10 July at 20:00.


Karen Zoid gets the chance to front her own Afrikaans talk show, Republiek van Zoid Afrika (RZA) which starts on Thursday, 10 July at 20:00 on kykNET (DStv 144) and in which the Afrikaans "rock chick" chats to and do satirical sketches with famous South African television faces.

The "Afrikaners is Plesierig" rocker, in the series produced by Brainwave Productions, welcomes guests ranging from Corne Krige, Riaan Cruywagen, Carte Blanche's Devi Sankaree Govender, Helen Zille, Pieter-Dirk UysCasper de VriesKurt Darren, Zolani Mahola and David Kramer to Anna-Mart van der Merwe.


Republiek van Zoid Afrika showcases Karen Zoid's "keen sense of humour and her unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life," says kykNET. With the help of guests viewers will see skits like "Boereraad vir Bands" and a new pan-flute CD called "Holriete".

Each Republiek van Zoid Afrika episode filmed at MagnaTude Studios, ends with a duet between Karen Zoid and guests like Laurika Rauch, Dorothy Masuka, Zolani Mahola and Kurt Darren.
