Biggest trade union, Bemawu, declares a dispute at the CCMA over SABC's controversial permanent appointment of matricless Hlaudi Motsoeneng.

The biggest communications trade union within the SABC, the Broadcasting, Electronic, Media and Allied Workers' Union (Bemawu) has declared a dispute with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) over the SABC's controversial permanent appointment of the famously matricless Hlaudi Motsoeneng as chief operating officer (COO) at the SABC. 

The shocking appointment of Hlaudi Motsoeneng for the SABC's second highest executive position wasn't even advertised.

The decision by the SABC board has been met with universal condemnation and criticism from all political quarters and the entire South African TV industry.
