M-Net secures the broadcasting rights to the 66th British Academy Film Awards for its M-Net Premiere channel on DStv on 11 February.

M-Net has acquired the broadcasting rights to 2013's 66th British Academy Film Awards, more commonly known as the Baftas which the South African pay-TV broadcaster will be showing in high definition (HD) a day after it takes place in Britain on Sunday night 10 February.

There been no word or announcement from M-Net or its M-Net Movies division to the press, but M-Net will bring DStv subscribers the 66th British Academy Film Awards - taking place this year at the Royal Opera House in London.

The 66th British Academy Film Awards will be shown on M-Net Premiere (DStv 103) from 00:00 until 02:00 (not a live broadcast) on the morning of Monday 11 February (South African time).

The 66th British Academy Film Awards will be repeated again in South African primetime on Monday 11 February at 20:30.

The 66th British Academy Film Awards on M-Net Premiere - a British awards ceremony which M-Net has shown the previous two years but is continuing with - is part of M-Net's major programming expansion in award season coverage in terms of awards shows for its new M-Net Movies subset bouquet of film channels on MultiChoice's DStv platform.

M-Net has secured the broadcasting rights to The BRIT Awards 2013, the British equivalent of the American Grammy Awards as well. M-Net will show The BRIT Awards 2013 on Saturday 23 February at 21:45 on the M-Net channel (DStv 101).
