Sky News (DStv 402) is announcing that the 24-hour British news channel will be opening a brand-news news bureau based in Los Angeles on the West Coast of America with Sky News' US correspondent Greg Milam who will head up the new bureau.

Greg Milam (right), currently based in Washington DC, will relocate to Los Angeles in February to set up the new bureau with Amanda Walker taking over as the new US correspondent, replacing Greg Milam and Dominic Waghorn in Washington DC.

Katie Stallard who has been Sky News' media and technology correspondent in London will take up the position of Russian correspondent based in Moscow and Niall Paterson is taking over the beat of media and technology.

"I'm excited at the prospect of having four correspondents covering the US, coast to coast," says Sarah Whitehead, the head of international news at Sky News in a statement. "Having a presence on the West Coast will enable us to tell stories from across America with all time zones covered."
