DATELINE MANGAUNG. SABC awash in massive amount of ANC TV exposure as broadcaster blankets ANC's National Conference.
Besides a massive amount of coverage on the SABC's radio stations, the South African public broadcaster has loaded its television schedule across all three of its TV channels with a huge amount of coverage and blanket exposure devoted to the ANC's National Conference.
Pre-coverage on the SABC has already started, which will go into massive overdrive between 16 to 20 December under the "Dateline Mangaung" banner which TV viewers are already being bombarded with.
The SABC says the broadcaster will provide "comprehensive and compelling content for the South African public" on its 18 radio stations and 3 TV channels.
SABC2's Morning Live is getting extended from 17 to 21 December by an hour until 09:00 daily for a special focus on the conference. On Friday 21 December Morning Live will host a live ANC breakfast broadcast from 06:00 to 09:00 with the president of the ANC.
SABC1's afternoon weekday news bulletins at 13:00 is extended by half an hour until 14:00 for special additional daily ANC content and coverage from the conference. SABC3's afternoon weekday news bulletins at 13:00 will likewise include ANC conference news and interviews.
SABC1, SABC2 and SABC3's daily news bulletins will all include "Dateline Mangaung" stories which will be comprised of reports, news updates and live crossings.
SABC2 is amending its scheuld ena will add Dateline Mangaung from 16 to 20 December daily for an hour per day between 22:00 to 23:00 - a special programme covering the ANC National Conference.
Besides the daily hour, SABC2 will have multiple live crossings to the conference, and also carry live the opening by the ANC president, as well as the closing address. SABC2 will cut live to the conference for breaking news and updates.
SABC1's Sunday Live on 16 December will devote its full hour from 18:30 to 19:30 to covering the ANC's National Conference.
SABC3's Interface which just canned a pre-recorded interview with the cartoonist Zapiro will go with live coverage of the ANC's National Conference on Sunday 16 December.
