Parliament's portfolio committee on communications has received 39 nominations by the end of June for the vacant position on the SABC board.
The SABC board has one vacant position since the resignation of Clifford Motsepe in April this year.
The portfolio committee is now busy creating a shortlist out of the 39 candidates after which the usual process of interviews will follow before a candidate's name is put forward for president Jacob Zuma to rubber stamp for approval.
The 39 CV's were summarised, qualifications checks were done and security clearance results are still pending, says the portfolio committee on communications.
