Discovery Networks and the Discovery Channel (DStv 121) has lost its biggest star and best show with Discovery and survivalist Bear Grylls (37) parting ways.
The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Discovery is immediately ending all its TV projects with Bear Grylls of Ultimate Survival. A spin-off, Worst Case Scenario started a year ago. Bear Grylls had several other projects in development with Discovery.
''Due to a continuing contractual dispute with Bear Grylls, Discovery has terminated all current productions with him,'' Discovery Networks tells me.
As recently as October he he wowed the crowd who were spellbound when he appeared in a special event opener message by video in Johannesburg at Discovery Networks International's upfront presentation here in South Africa.
