BREAKING. SABC suspends its acting chief technology officer, Gelfand Kausiyo over ''allegations of misconduct''.
The SABC has suspended the South African public broadcaster's acting chief technology officer Gelfand Kausiyo because of ''allegations of misconduct'', according to broadcaster insiders.
Gelfand Kausiyo who was suspended on Friday, is the SABC's first suspension of the year. Sipho Masinga has been named as the SABC's new acting chief technology officer while the allegations of misconduct against Gelfand Kausiyo are being investigated.
Gelfand Kausiyo has been the acting chief technology officer since November, when Richard Waghorn left the public broadcaster.
The SABC didn't immediately respond to media enquiries made late on Tuesday regarding Gelfand Kausiyo's suspension. The SABC is suppose to launch the SABC's 18 TV channels this year as part of South Africa's switch-over to digital terrestrial television (DTT), a process known as digital migration.
