CNN International and it's really schizophrenic schedule - and more new timeslot changes coming from Tuesday.

Two things about CNN International (DStv 401) that's somehow related: firstly that the schedule has gone haywire (and I mean that in a bad way) and secondly that it could become even worse: the business news reporter Erin Burnett and her brand-new show OutFront will join the already convoluted CNN International schedule when it starts, creating even more ''where's my show now?'' havoc.

CNN International is changing the schedule up so much for viewers in South Africa, that even I as a TV critic who spends a lot of time pouring over TV information, watching and comparing stuff and trying to make sense of it all, can't keep up. That's bad news for viewers who don't have time to figure out what's going on, and services like DStv's electronic programme guide (EPG) that's become basically just a ''ghost version'' of a basic schedule compared to what's actually on.

The recent move of Anderson Cooper 360 in America to a new timeslot has created madness with CNN International's schedule across Europe (the feed seen in South Africa). I asked in advance back in August whether Anderson Cooper 360 would change timeslots and to where, and was told nothing would change. Meanwhile a lot of schedule changes were made. Where is what show now? Who knows. Even I can't really figure it out.

One thing I can confirm after asking CNN International, is that Quest Means Business will be replacing the repeat of Anderson Cooper 360 from Tuesday 13 September on weekdays, and permanently - with a repeat of Quest Means Business at 04:00 (South African time).

The CNN International schedule will now be (from this coming Tuesday):
01:00 World Report (from Hong Kong)
02:00 Anderson Cooper 360 (from New York)
03:00 Piers Morgan Tonight
04:00 Quest Means Business (repeat)

Now, the schedule does not yet reflect, and CNN International is not yet talking about OutFront, a new show from Erin Burnett who left CNBC in America a while ago. OutFront already indicated that it will also be seen on CNN International. Where will that fit in and how will the CNN International schedule possibly be changing again ...
