''As a young company TopTV is aware of its current challenges, but also very proud of its achievements to date,'' says TopTV's vice president Elouise Kelly in a just issued press release. The pay TV operator turned one year old on Sunday 1 May but chose not to talk about it.

''June and July will see new developments taking place and it is then that we will be in a position to provide our stakeholders with accurate and more detailed information,'' says Elouise Kelly.
''As with any new company, TopTV has had its share of teething problems, however its launch in May last year saw a shakeup in the pay TV market with prices been lowered, new software been introduced as well as a previously ignored market being catered to with specific channels,'' says TopTV. The company's last stated subscriber number is 200 000 subscribers that have signed up since May last year.
''From a consumer perspective, TopTV has given the South African viewer more choice and is showing itself as a serious contender, grabbing the rights to first runs of some of the most talked about shows, including The Walking Dead, The Listener and the soon to be seen Falling Skies. The Booth at The End, also exclusive to TopTV, was a first in terms of incorporating online, mobile and TV.''
''TopTV subscribers can look forward to new and exciting shows and series on the platform in the upcoming months. The Martha Stewart Show, never before on SA screens is now a firm favourite on Top One, one of TopTV's flagship channels,'' says the company in the press release.
[Ed's note: The Marth Stewart Show's first two seasons was shown on The Home Channel (DStv 182)]
