Talk about counter programming! I can exclusively break the news tht SABC2 has acquired the broadcasting rights to the American reality dance show Step It Up and Dance which will counter e.tv's new local dance reality show Step Up Or Step Out.
Step It Up Or Step Out will start on SABC2 on Saturday 21 May at 15:00 for 10 episodes while Step Up Or Step Out will start on e.tv on Sunday 8 May at 18:05 with a behind-the-scenes show Step Up Or Step Out Flipside starting Tuesday 10 May at 20:30.
Two dance shows, two reality shows, both scheduled over weekends, both starting in the same month. Co-incidental? Well, no broadcaster is ever going to admit to the TV sin known as deliberate counter-programming.
