kykNET (DStv 111) has 5 new as well as some returning shows lined-up from April.
The classic M-Net soap Egoli gets a rebroadcast on kykNET from Monday 4 April at 11:00 on weekdays. ''We believe that viewers would love to watch the gripping and still relevant stories of this classic soap again,'' says kykNET channel head Karin Meiring, '' and that Egoli will be embraced by viewers who haven't been old enough to enjoy soaps when Egoli started in 1992.''
As I've said here already the soap Villa Rosa will be moving to 18:00, followed by Binneland at 18:30. The Villa Rosa omnibus will now be on Saturdays at 09:00.
Straatpraat is a new show starting on Saturday 2 April at 19:30. The vox pops show in 13 episodes corners ordinary South Africans on the street in several Western Cape town and talk with them about a range of topics.
Opskop is on Saturday 9 April in the new timeslot of 20:30 and is a music talk show focusing on Afrikaans music, and the Afrikaans music industry. Hier Gaan Ons Alweer is back for a new season starting on Monday 4 April at 17:30. Petri de Wet is the presenter in this show for fishing aficianados. Fiesta is back in a new timeslot and for a new season. From Monday 4 April Fiesta, visiting various festivals around South Africa is on at 19:30.
A new season of Proesstraat also starts on Monday 4 April at 20:00. This improvisation show has local Afrikaans stars on the stage taking on roles in situational comedy sketches they're getting on the spot and is recorded in front of a live studio audience. Kwêla Funnies starts on Tuesday 5 April at 20:30 and is a new show compiled from the collection of funny homevideos of the Kwêla viewers competition. A new season of the talk show Rian kicks off on Tuesday 5 April at 21:30.
Celeb se Kind is another new show starting on kykNET on Wednesday 6 April at 21:00. Sandra Prinsloo is the presenter looking at stars and their pets. Grond is a new show starting on Thursday 7 April at 19:30 with 3 episodes looking at the South African farming community.
Wie lê Waar? starting on Thursday 7 April at 20:30 goes in search of the final resting places of famous South Africans from poet DJ Opperman to singers Bles Bridges and Gé Korsten. It's presented by Piet Botha who also looks at their contribution they've made to the country in life.
The brilliant Agter Elke Man, currently in its umpteenth rebroadcast on South African television will move to Fridays at 19:30 from Friday 8 April. The second season of the new local drama Vallei van Sluiers starts on Friday 19 April at 19:30. The new local reality show Fortuinsoekers with presenter Scott Scott will start on Thursday 28 April at 19:30.
