BREAKING. e.tv considering a live broadcast of the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on 29 April.

You're reading it here first.

I can reveal that e.tv is considering a live broadcast of the royal wedding of Prince William to Kate Middleton on 29 April.

Nothing is definite and no contracts have been signed yet for e.tv to get and use the one live feed - probably from the BBC - of the wedding ceremony. Should e.tv do a live broadcast, it will be the first free-to-air TV channel in South Africa showing the royal wedding since the SABC hasn't made work of this yet. I'm told by insider sources that SABC3, the most likely channel, has no plans yet for a live, or any other kind of broadcast.

MultiChoice is also not planning anything special. I'm told that besides the satellite news channels like BBC World News (DStv 400 / TopTV 400), Sky News (DStv 402) and a smattering of others that will definitely show the wedding and have coverage of the surrounding proceedings, there's not much more that will be done from the pay TV platform's side.
