In a very secretive and shocking turn of events the scheduled follow-up appearance of the SABC board before parliament tomorrow, Wednesday, November 10, has suddenly been postponed . . . indefinitely.
Although suddenly, inexplicably and indefinitely postponed, I hear a date of November 26 now being whispered for the SABC board and its beleaguered chairperson, dr Ben Ngubane, to appear before parliament again. This follow-up meeting of tomorrow was supposed to be the continuation of the first meeting last month where the SABC board and dr Ben Ngubane were chastised by parliament's portfolio committee on communications. The SABC board and dr Ben Ngubane failed to produce any real documents, had no real tangible turn-around strategy documents, real feasible answers or documentation submitted in time on the myriad of mismanagement issues at the SABC - and how they're dealing with it.
