BREAKING. SABC board making more (empty?) promises before parliament; board members who resigned not allowed to talk.

You're reading it here first.

Major instability, the South African public broadcaster's top execs in denial about several crippling issues, and many more (empty?) promises are marking today's appearance of the SABC board before parliament's portfolio committee on communications.

With the SABC board's  - or what's left of them - appearing in parliament today to answer about the beleaguered state of the public broadcaster, it has now come to light that the recently resigned SABC board members are not allowed to speak.

The SABC's acting group CEO Robin Nicholson faced a grilling by the portfolio committee who was asked a few hours ago about the legal quagmire the broadcaster is involved in and the multiple legal cases, talking about the exorbitant cost of sports rights and answering on the massive money problems of the SABC.
