BREAKING. M-Net disappointed with the drunk Mara Louw's ''irresponsible'' behaviour on the Idols set.
After her drug-fuelled, vodka induced, F-word laced behaviour, M-Net has come down hard on the drunk Idols judge Mara Louw with the strongest worded press release M-Net has ever issued in the history of the pay broadcaster, saying that M-Net is ''disappointed with her irresponsible behaviour''. ''Its a pity that the focus of Idols is moving away from where it should be: on the incredibly talented singers who are working hard to become South Africa's next Idol.''
I was first on Sunday afternoon to warn about Mara Louw's F-bomb expletive she dropped in the show and that it would be interesting to see how M-Net is going to handle it. M-Net and the producers appropriately didn't air it and were very unhappy about Mara Louw's erratic behaviour.
''Mara Louw had an energy drink with vodka before last week's show commenced [that as recorded on Friday and broadcast this past Sunday. The drink was consumed on top of strong pain medication she had taken for her broken toe,'' says M-Net.
''M-Net accepts Mara Louw's apology, but is disappointed with her irresponsible behaviour. M-Net does not allow crew members, cast and presenters, on any set to consume alcohol prior to a show. It is against our code of conduct and could lead to disciplinary action. To reinstate our stance, the Idols cast and crew will officially be informed today that M-Net will not, under any circumstances, tolerate behaviour on set that could tarnish the reputation of the production.''
