Icasa to set to announce the successful applicants for mobile DVB-H broadcasts in South Africa on Friday.

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (Icasa) is set to make the long-overdue announcement of the successful applicants for mobile television spectrum for DVB-H broadcasts in South Africa on Friday.

The authority that has taken forever to get DVB-H mobile TV regulated and to issue licences will finally make the announcement this Friday in Sandton, according to an Icasa advisory the regulator sent out.

MultiChoice has been running DVB-H mobile TV trials for a number of years, while Icasa just this year twice asked for applications.
