TopTV, South Africa's new satellite pay TV entrant, is going to war. Literally.
I can exclusively reveal that On Digital Media (ODM) will be having it's official launch party - already buzzed about in the entire industry as the TV launch event of the year - at the War Memorial in Erlswold Way, Saxonwold in Johannesburg. TopTV's commercial broadcast start on 1 May. If the ''spectacular gala event'' (which is how ODM refers to its upcoming TopTV launch party) is anything like the deluxe press briefing with snazmataz catering that completely wowed everyone and which i wrote about RIGHT HERE, it should be a rousing success.
Already i can tell you that the world's major TV titans, TV channel heads, international TV distributors as well as technology, software and infrastructure suppliers, are getting ready to fly in from literally all over the world - America as well as Europe - to be in South Africa on the evening of 29 April. All the TopTV global partners will be hosted and attend when ODM unveils TopTV at the auspicious occasion. Security? Super tight. Dress will be formal and a large number of local celebrities will definitely attend. Numerous international celebrities - artists, trendsetters as well as musicians - have also been invited.
