BREAKING. Idols still registering contestants as the reality show is inundated with wannabe singers at Cape Town auditions.

You're reading it here first.

Idols audition kicked off this morning at 8:00 in Cape Town - almost 12 hours later, and the producers are still registering and seeing contestants who showed up en masse and have been waiting patiently during the whole day.

Producers and administration officials will stay, although its dark, to process and register the remaining contestants.

The phenomenal turn-out for Cape Town (that experienced a more conservative turn-out during the Idols audition process last year) bodes well for the M-Net reality show in its sixth season, when it will visit South Africa's other main centra during May.
