M-Net to make a 'special announcement' or announcements later today - and part of it appears to be continent-wide.

M-Net is apparently set to make some kind of a "special announcement" or announcements later today - and at least part of  it seems to be continent-wide.

Press and South African TV critics are gathering later today in Johannesburg for an M-Net press event at The Venue Green Park; a similar get-together is happening today in the Ivory Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

Is M-Net perhaps announcing The Voice South Africa or The Amazing Race South Africa (or The Amazing Race Africa?) or both?

Or will today not yield an announcement or announcements about any of this all?

Various sources told TV with Thinus in June that M-Net is in negotiations and actually close to final negotiations for The Voice SA and The Amazing Race SA.

When asked whether M-Net is in negotiation for local versions of either or both of these reality competition shows, M-Net declined to comment.
