BREAKING. Local business TV channels CNBC Africa and Summit both plan to go big with Budget Day this Wednesday, 23 February.

Both the local South African business television channels, CNBC Africa (DStv 410) and Summit (DStv 412) will be going big with coverage of the minister of finance Pravin Gordhan's budget speech this coming Wednesday 23 February. I already told you RIGHT HERE that the eNews Channel (DStv 403) as well as e.tv are also planning to broadcast the 2011 budget speech live as well as additional coverage, and SABC2 will broadcast it as well.

Summit (DStv 412) tells me the business channel ''has a full line-up this year'' starting at 13:00 on Wednesday with a pre budget speech debate and discussion. Summit's usual programming line-up for Wednesday evening will also be changing to accomodate the various debate reaction panels. Summit will have news at the top of every hour that will be about the budget speech that will also include reaction and analysts' views as it comes in. Summit will be posting their complete budget day line-up tomorrow (Tuesday) on their website, and the business channel tells me that the actual video of the panel discussions will also be posted on the Summit website after its been broadcast.

Summit's schedule looks as follows for Wednesday, 23 February at the moment:
13:15: Pre budget speech panel discussion hosted by Erika van der Merwe. Panelists are Dawie Roodt, Ian Cruickshanks and Azar Jammine.
14:00: The budget speech by Pravin Gordhan.
15:45: Post budget speech political panel hosted by Jane Viedge. Panelists are Lebohang Pheko, Aubrey Matshiqi.
16:00: Business panel hosted by David Williams. Panelists are Richard Pike, Digby Glover.
16:15: Editors' panel hosted by David Williams. Panelists are Ron Derby, Marcia Klein, Ido Lekota.
16:30: Tax panel hosted by Ewald Muller. Panelists are Brian Dennehy, Corlie Hazell, Johan Kotze.
17:30: Property panel hosted by Kura Chihota. Panelists are Herschel Jawitz, John Loos, Selemeng Mokose.
17:45: Sake met Summit hosted by Erika van der Merwe. Panelists are Ronel Oberholzer, Etienne le Roux, Sunel Veldtman, Barry Visser, Izel du Plessis.
18:30: Personal finance panel hosted by Bryan Hirsch. Panelists are Geraldine MacPherson, Werner Vos, Zwelodumo Mabhoza.

CNBC Africa (DStv 410) tells me the business channel ''will have special broadcasts across Wednesday on budget day''. CNBC Africa presenters in studio will be Alishia Seckam, Lerato Mbele and Eleni Giokos. Stephen Gunnion will be in Cape Town and will interview Pravin Gordhan live at 16:50 to 17:00.
