Shock is spreading through South Africa's TV industry with the death, after an apparent suicide in Durban last night, of
Marjorie Brooks-Morris who became a household name to South African viewers as a presenter on the country's first morning TV programme,
Good Morning South Africa (
GMSA) on TV1 at the SABC.
Marjorie Brooks-Morris began her broadcasting career in the mid-70's as a presenter on Radio Port Natal the precursor to East Coast Radio, after which she moved to Johannesburg. She is survived by her husband, dr Warwick Morris.
