Derek van Dam, the chief meteorologist of the eNews Channel (DStv 403) is done with a close shave - he now sports a beard.
Maybe Derek van Dam had one to many close shaves in 2012 already, which might be the reason for the the five o' clock shadow sitting on the sides of the weather man. In March he was involved in a very scary yachting accident which kept him off the air for days. (He then talked about it.)
Then in July Derek van Dam had his second serious accident during a soccer game injuring his left hand and finger. He took medical leave, had a hand operation and was back at the beginning of this month on 2 August.
Now, besides reporting on some rough weather, Derek van Dam is sporting some rough growth on 'em chinny-chin-chins.
