ESPN International (DStv 230) is extending its broadcasting rights agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB) in America which means that South African DStv subscribers will be seeing more baseball on the channel from April (tomorrow).
The agreement between ESPN International and MLB means that South African viewers will get to see more regular MLB season baseball games. Viewers will get more Sunday Night Baseball, Monday Night Baseball and Wednesday Night Baseball as well as the All-Star Game, the playoffs and the World Series.
''This new deal builds extends the relationship as we continue to bring millions of baseball fans the most comprehensive coverage of MLB to every corner of the globe,'' says Tim Bunnell, senior vice president, programming and marketing for ESPN International in a press statement.
ESPN International will now add live coverage of the All-Star Game and the World Series in Africa/South Africa, and also add live coverage of the division Series and League Championship Series in Africa/South Africa, as well as live coverage of the Homerun Derby. The sports channel will continue to show Baseball Tonight in Africa/South Africa as will show the weekly baseball magazine show This Week in Baseball as well.
