Programming note: Crackberry'd: The Truth about Information Overload on CNBC Africa this Friday at midnight.

2011 is out of the gate and the first great must-see TV documentary of the year is on CNBC Africa (DStv 410).

I asked over the weekend and just got told that Crackberry'd: The Truth about Information Overload will be shown this Friday night, 7 January at midnight (00:00) on CNBC Africa (DStv 410). The doccie will be repeated on CNBC Africa on Saturday 15 January at 16:00 as well as on Sunday 16 January.

In a fascinating exploration, Crackberry'd: The Truth about Information Overload looks at how modern technology is rapidly changing the way we live for the better, but also for worse and the way in which smartphones and computers are keeping us constantly connected but leads to attention deficits, stress, more information, but also more anxiety.

Are our constant connectivity through phones, the internet and cyber social networking damaging our real-life relationships? Are these devices detrimental to our health because we spend more time ''connecting''? What are the signs of internet addiction and how do you manage computer and cellphone use?
