The Auckland Park headquarters of South Africa's public broadcaster had to be evacuated after a bomb scare at the SABC.
The SABC's TV licence department received a telephone call from a man claiming that there is a bomb in the building. The South African Police Service as well as the bomb squad rushed to the SABC and searched the public broadcaster's Johannesburg head office while fire marshalls were deployed around the building. The police didn't find any bombs or explosives and the bomb scare did not affect the SABC's broadcasts.
