Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch star Mahlon Reyes dead at 38 after suffering a heart attack.

One of the stars of the Deadliest Catch reality series on the Discovery Channel (DStv 121), Mahlon Reyes, has died after suffering a heart attack. He was 38.

TMZ first reported Mahlon Reyes' death who died after he had suffered a heart attack on 25 July which he survived. The Deadliest Catch deckhand however never regained consciousness and was taken off of life-support on 26 June and died.

He is survived by his wife Heather Sullivan and 4 children.

Mahlon Reyes worked on, and appeared on, two of the Deadliest Catch crab fishing boats, the Seabrooke and Cape Caution in the Bering Sea.

Mahlon Reyes began appearing on Deadliest Catch in 2012.

In a statement Discovery Channel says "So sad. He was so young. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family".

On 30 July Mahlon Reyes' fellow Deadliest Catch crewmember Nick McGlashan posted several messages on Twitter, including a group photo that included Reyes, writing in the caption, "Family times. Laughing, crying and remembering our brother Mahlon Reyes".
