The American weekday soap Days of Our Lives seen in South Africa on e.tv has been renewed for a 54th season in the United States by NBC.

Days of Our Lives is a Corday Production Inc. soap produced in association with Sony Pictures Television.

"We're very excited about having more great Days in Salem," says Bruce Evans, NBC executive vice president, for current programming in a statement.

"Ken Corday, executive producer, and his team continue to tell stories with which the Days loyal audience feels a deep connection. We congratulate them on their remarkable daytime legacy and look forward to what they have planned for the new season."

Ken Corday in the statement says "We’re thrilled that the sands will continue flowing through the hourglass for yet another year. We are most grateful to NBC and Sony for their continued support of Days of Our Lives. Buckle up, because we have some exciting and compelling new stories coming to Salem this season."

e.tv has already moved Days of Our Lives 2 times since it took over the soap from the SABC in September 2017. Days started out at 17:30 on e.tv, was moved to 18:00 from mid-January, and was shifted again to 17:15 from the beginning of March.

Besides South Africa, Days of our Lives is broadcast in more than 24 other countries.
