The veteran TV, film and stage actress Marga van Rooy died on Sunday afternoon at 14:20 after a battle with cancer. The Afrikaans actress was 75.
While appearing in film and on stage, Marga van Rooy reached fame through South African television in multi-year roles the previous two decades on shows like Egoli on M-Net, Vetkoekpaleis on SABC2 and later Molly & Wors on kykNET (DStv 144).
Besides television she appeared in Afrikaans comedy films like Nommer Asseblief, Lipstiek Dipstiek, Panic Mechanic, Die Windpomp and recently 'n Paw-Paw Vir My Darling.
Marga van Rooy died after a battle with cancer the past two months after she underwent surgery in December 2016. In November 2016 she was still appeared on stage in the play Daa Gaat die Bruid.
