Life imitated art with the TV presenter Theunis Nel whose arm had to be amputated yesterday following a vehicle accident with his motorbike.

Theunis Nel who is a presenter of the Woema magazine show on kykNET (DStv 144) played the character of Werner who died in a motorcycle accident in the first season of the 1990's local TV drama Sonkring on TV1.

Theunis Nel came close to death on Monday when a car crashed into his motorcycle on Monday in Pretoria.
