Eleni Giokos on the eNCA welcomes Richard Quest from CNN to the eNCA studio as they talk shop over South African business.

Eleni Giokos on the eNCA (DStv 403) welcomed Richard Quest from Quest Means Business on CNN International (DStv 401) to the eNCA Hyde Park studios this morning where the two bantered and talked biz - as in business news. And it was clear that both were absolutely in their element.

e.tv and the eNCA as usual did absolutely nothing to alert the South African press or TV critics and editors about Richard Quest's appearance this morning. and e.tv and eNCA publicity issued no programming advisories, publicity notes or photos.

Towards the end of Eleni Giokos and Richard Quest's co-hosting on the eNCA where they discussed a wide-range of South African economic and business topics, the South African PR company Arcay Burson-Marsteller repping CNN International, told me that Richard Quest is on the eNCA... "now". (Too late to alert viewers to tune in though.)

I asked Arcay BM why Richard Quest is in South Africa. "CNN international's business correspondent was the master of ceremonies at the South African Property Owners' Association international convention and property exhibition at Sun City," I was told. "He is leaving South Africa tomorrow."

I reached out to e.tv and the eNCA and asked about the Richard Quest appearance. "He was invited as a special guest for a half hour once-off segment with Eleni Giokos to discuss business, economy, tourism of South Africa and Africa," I'm told.

It was great to watch two people who thoroughly know their business fundamentals, economic news, termonilogy and constructs inside out - it was like listening in and eavesdropping on two economists who like each other and are friends talking shop.

Eleni Giokos thanked Richard Quest for doing the program and he reciprocated by saying "its a treat and a pleasure. I'll be seeing you later, on my programme".

Eleni Giokos will be appearing on Quest Means Business on CNN International (DStv 401) on Friday, 17 May at 20:00 tonight.
