Programming note: Carte Blanche on M-Net in Italy this Sunday at 19:00 for interesting stories about Oscar Pistorius' mansion and the Pope.

Carte Blanche on M-Net this Sunday at 19:00 will be interesting - M-Net's longrunning weekly magazine show travelled to Italy for what will definitely be intriguing viewing related to Oscar Pistorius' provinciale home away from home, and the Pope in Rome.

Carte Blanche's Derek Watts travelled to Gemona in the north-east of Italy in a story produced by Este de Klerk, a town with its roots in medieval times where one of the main attractions is the 14th century cathedral. It's however also the place that Oscar Pistorius who shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp calls his "home away from home".

As Carte Blanche will show viewers, Gemona is one of the few places where Oscar Pistorius' name is still in lights.

In another Italian story, also with producer Este de Klerk and journalist Chwayitisa Futshane, Derek Watts travelled to Rome to follow the dramatic upheaval surrounding the resignation of Pope Benedict which stunned the Catholic church last month. As cardinals from all over the world gather at the Vatican to elect a new leader, Carte Blanche looks at the challenges facing the next Pope.
