SABC and e.tv reporters make the list of 27 finalists for the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards 2011.

TV reporters from the SABC and e.tv have made it as finalists in the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist of the Year Awards 2011 that will be taking place on Saturday 25 June.

From the entries for the 16th year of the competition, 27 finalists from 13 countries have been selected who will be competing in various categories and for the overall prize in Africa's most prestigious competition rewarding quality journalism on the continent.

Mark Klusener of e.tv, Melini Moses from the SABC and Lindile Mpanza from e.tv are the 3 South African TV journalists that forms a part of this year's 27 overall finalists.

The CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards 2011 will be taking place in Johannesburg this year. The event will in all likelihood be televised again. The confirmed presenters are CNN International's Isha Sesay who've now hosted it several times the past few years, as well as the South African SuperSport presenter Robert Marawa, MultiChoice announced in a press release.

Joel Kibazo, chairperson of the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards 2011 judging panel says in the press release that ''African journalists are becoming noticeably more challenging, showing greater courage and strength which would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. Entries this year have demonstrated this – bolder, more determined on their home patch, and with a new found zeal to cover countries beyond their own borders."
