I can exclusively break the news that Discovery Channel (DStv 121) will broadcast its exclusive TV documentary, Chilean Miners Rescue on Sunday, November 7 at 20:55 in South Africa.

Chilean Miners Rescue, a one-hour must-see TV event produced by Peru's Pacha Films will give an exclusive and unprecedented look and interviews about the rescue of those Chilean miners who were trapped for 69 days and who's rescue gripped a global TV audience.

''This one-off special documentary analyses the extraordinary mission to rescue the miners from the depths of the earth,'' says Paul Welling, vice president and the head of channels for Discovery Networks' emerging markets. ''In true Discovery fashion, the show explores the groundbreaking technology, pain-staking planning, emotional ups and downs and eventual success of this incredible 70-day rescue mission.''

Chilean Miners Rescue will have interviews with the Chilean president Sebastián Piñera, the Chilean mining minister Laurence Golborne, dr Michael Duncan of Nasa who advised the medical team in charge of the miners while they were trapped and several of the engineers and drillers on site.

The Discovery Channel gained unprecedented access to the room set aside for reunions between rescued miners and their families, Andre Sougarett, who's the head of the rescue operation, the workings of the three drilling machines used in the rescue operation, medical teams and interviews with the rescuers who descended into the mine during the final phase of the rescue operation.
